A Rabbi Walked Into a Podcast and Talked About...

Rabbi Steve's Podcast in which he talks about whatever the hell he wants. Topics will vary widely both from episode to episode and even within individual episodes: just like the man himself. From genre film (e.g. science fiction, fantasy, film noir, super hero, comedy etc) to tech. From everyday life to spirituality/philosophy.  From the sublime to the ridiculous. A liberating range of language will sometimes be used, so not for children or those with a sensitive ear.

This is not a podcast for everyone.

It is not for people primarily interested in Judaism, nor will it advocate, preach or proselytize same.

It's for people who like geeky subjects, media and genres.  And who like the way Rabbi Steve approachessuch subjects.

There will be a lot about film and music.  And film music.

More than the average person ever wanted to know about graphic storytelling (aka "comic books"), superheroes (in all media), science fiction, horror, fantasy and noir of various shades.

There will be philosophy mixed in with just plain random talk.  Sometimes the language and subjects might be raunchy.  While I retain the title rabbi (a title for which I returned to school in my thirties and then studied for 10 years to earn), I am no longer practicing nor preaching in that capacity.  Yet, my love for philosophy, spirituality, and classical myth in traditions including (but not limited to) Jewish traditions (yes, there is plurality of Jewish traditions), will sometimes inform the discussion. Or at least touch it in some way.  Possibly indecently.

In short, I am a spiritual geek, who likes to talk about whatever, with whomever, and however I want.  If you don't like that, please move along... nothing to see or hear here.

(Here, Here!)

Everyone's welcome... until you feel you're not.  And then you probably will probably feel your time is better spent elsewhere.  Go there.   Now.

On the other hand, if you are among the minority of geeks, nerds, or spiritual freaks who like pulpy flavors mixed in with your spiritual fruit, and/or philosophy sometimes creeping into your fanboy/girl talk, this might be just the place for you.
